Tai Chi is a very gentle and, slow form of
aerobic exercise that strengthens and, tones the muscles, improves balance and
develops co-ordination. The heart rate is increased by 20-30%, exercising
the heart and strengthening the respiratory system.
It is ideal as a way to relieve stress and develop a more positive,
focused, yet relaxed attitude towards life. Most students feel some
benefits straight away. The exercises taught in the classes can be used as
a tool to alleviate the stress, and strain of busy modern day lifestyles,
and as a very enjoyable way to regain, and maintain, fitness and good
health.
The Syllabus
The syllabus is broad and extensive and includes a range of Chi
Kung excercises, many styles of Tai Chi, Tai Chi Sword and the martial
applications of the gentle movements in the forms. Thus enabling the
student to achieve a basic level of self defense, good health and mental
harmony.

"In physical exercise the
most important point is to achieve relaxation, calm and sinking. When
relaxed chi can flow properly, when sinking you can issue power from your
whole body structure. Relaxation and sinking are the key principles of
martial arts"
~ Liu Yun Chou
